Ariel Gail

Prof. Gail S. Goodman, Director of the Psychology Department and Director of Center for Public Policy Research is a professor at University of California Davis. She has been widely recognized for her pioneering work in studying witness testimony by children and the eyewitness memory in legal settings. Prof. Goodman has published widely as well as received numerous grants. She has also received numerous national and international distinctions. She has been a consultant to numerous government agencies and governments across the world regarding policies and studies on child victims in the legal system. She acts as a consultant for the Special Assault Forensic Evaluation Center (formerly Multidisciplinary Interview Center) of the Sacramento County Child Protective Services. She holds memberships in many professional associations, including the Association for Psychological Science and American Psychological Association. Professor Goodman is also a part of Psychonomics Society Society for Research in Child Development American Professional Society on the Abuse of Children (Founding member) International Society for the prevention of child abuse and Neglect and International Society for Traumatic Stress Studies. She served as the head of the America Psychological Association's divisions: Division American Psychology Law Society, Division Developmental Psychology and Division Society for Children and Families Policy and Practice.
